-Locker rooms could get kind of gross with overflowing trash cans, toilet paper all over the restroom area (except in the dispenser), and water build up stains in the showers.
-Canceling was relatively easy. All I had to do was go to the front desk, I was asked if I was interested in freezing my membership and when I said no they went ahead and cancelled. Not as painful as I feared it might be.
-The manager, Will, who helped me get signed up initially was nice, professional and no pressure.
-I was often worried about cleanliness on the equipment because instead of having spray bottles of disinfectant available to wipe down equipment, there was a gel like substance that resembled hand sanitizer you were supposed to pump into a paper towel to wipe down. This didn't seem all that effective as the dispenser only provided small amounts at a time and I rarely saw members or staff actually wiping down equipment.
-There were a decent amount of classes offered at a variety of times (See cons section for some further info though)
-Although the scheduling of classes was convenient, I've heard rumor that LA doesn't pay instructors very much. I can't confirm or deny that detail but it was my experience that once I found an instructor that was really good, I would take classes from them for a few weeks and then they would no longer be teaching at LA. The "left over" instructors that stuck around were generally sub-par.
You would get 5 stars once you bring back the stretching are.. and not make it exclusive for personal trainers...
Cons:
Was a decent place for the price. Nothing special but had the basics. Now they've reduced the available exercise area for members by partitioning off the stretching area for only Personal Training use and marked some of the (used to be available) equipment as for personal training use. So members get less space, less equipment but pay the same. Will be looking into other gym options.
I have been a LA Fitness member for at least 5 years now and this is hands down my favorite gym. I travel a lot for work so I have the Multi Gym Membership and the Beavercreek location is definitely my favorite. People there are really motivating and the Staff is great! On a side note I will say that the Exclusive Personal Trainer Area is odd at best considering it does have some nice equipment that is not available anywhere else in the gym. Additionally if you are into people watching there are some pretty funny characters at this gym. Overall Great Gym!
Pros:
-The equipment in the gym looked like the gym had opened up in the 90s and never updated since. The TVs above the treadmill listed which radio station to tune to to get the audio (who has personal radios anymore??), the spin bikes were so old and in disrepair that sometimes it was hard to actually pedal on them, and in the group fitness room there were images of people smiling at you for inspiration that were embarrassingly dated looking.
-Convenient location close to where I live and also close to other shopping areas
-I never had any issue with temperature control
Great Gym and awesome Staff! Plenty of equipment and very clean. Been coming here for years and would highly recommend. Love it!
I was a member here for 6 months. I work on base and I was trying to find an alternative gym than the one provided on base that doesn't have A/C and I was looking for more group fitness class offerings in the evening. Overall I wasn't all that impressed with this L.A. Fitness though I can't speak to other locations in the area as I was a single club member at the North Fairfield location.
